State of the Union Interviews

Although we were supposed to utilize the sun in a variety of ways to show which lighting is best, the sun was setting during our interviewing process so many of the shots appear to be filmed with the same lighting technique. I noticed it was easiest to see the interviewee when both of us were in the shade, and it was hardest to see the interviewee when the sun was behind me while I was taping the subject. Morgan and I utilized the rule of thirds throughout this video which was fairly easy because the subjects were standing still. The assignment was helpful in getting us used to being out and about talking to people but also taught us the shocking realization that people are, for the most part, really not willing to talk... especially to those with video cameras. Frustrating!
